The New Season of Run's House...

My Favorite Reality Show

Out of all the reality shows and tv that I watch period by far, I can say that Run's House is my favorite show. Unlike most reality shows that live off of shock and awe, this show can be pleasantly watched with the whole family in the room. I guess some people may tune in to see how rich folks live. I personally tune in because I love the way the family members interact with each other. It's good to see positive images of a black family on tv for a change. We've seen the Simmons family through a lot of ups and downs. We've seen Angela graduate from high school, Vanessa try to land acting gigs, JoJo become a young man, Diggy and Russy pull their comical antics; and we've seen Rev. Run and his wife, Justine, weather one of their roughest times when losing a baby. I thought for sure that the show would have ended behind the rough times, but they surprised us and continued on in such a way that could only make you love them more. Be sure to check for the new season of Run's House on October 25, 2007, on MTV on 10 p.m.

The Salt And Pepa Show...

My Mic Sounds Nice...

My Mic Sounds Nice...Check 3...

You know what? VH1 had shown so many sneak peeks of this show leading up to its first airing that we had seen most of everything except for the last 10 minutes of the show. So, if you missed the first show, you didn't miss much. Just go to VH1's website to get caught up. With this show, I wasn't too surprised about anything. Salt happily has settled down with her husband and kids. Pepa wants to recapture the good feelings that the group once felt at the height of their success. Spinderella is nowhere to be seen. VH1 tripped and fell. They are so wrong for not including Spinderella. But anywho more or less, I watch the show because it's like a comfort food. Salt and Pepa are of my time and represent important events in my life. My Mic Sounds Nice came out my senior year in high school. Push It came out when I was in college. Salt and Pepa's collaboration with EnVogue for Whatta Man came out around the time when I first started working on my first real job after college. Those were the days. Now I can be driving to work and hear one of those songs and can all of a sudden remember all the rhymes. Let's see what Salt and Pepa will be up to next week on their show. It comes on Mondays at 10 p.m on VH1.

That Black Magic CD was my JOOOOOINT! Expression was like my lil' trademark song...even my mom was like "Jump, spread out and stop, now bring in the go-go oh-oh, look at how my butt go, rock from the left to the right...". That was one of many songs where our generation met her generation, and we ran with it.

My ex for some reason didn't like that being my lil' signature song.

I'm so glad that I stopped here Zee. I would have forgotten all about Run's House. We are kindred spirits. I don't do the reality show circuit, but I just love Run's House (I was one of the biggest Run DMC fans in the world and cried the day JMJ died) It broke my heart when the baby died last season and I too thought that the show was done! But I'm so happy they are back.

Salt-n-Pepa, what can I say? I like the 2 episodes that I've seen so far and it was heartbreaking seeing the pilot with the ladies at odds. Do you remember when they were called Supernature for about a minute before being called Salt-n-Pepa? And I don't know if you know, but this Spinderella isn't the ORIGINAL Spinderella.

There was another sista LaToya with the name and it got pretty ugly with ownership and all. If you have the first album cover, you can see that's not Deidra on the cover but the original Spin. I heard a rumor that HAD something to do with Spin not appearing because of some kind of litigation, but I'm not quite certain.

And why oh why??? Did Pepa mess up her nose like that luv? A Salt-with a Deadly Pepa is their best album after Black's Magic. Hey there Zee, you old school honey you!

Now see? I went on rambling about Black'S Magic so long until I forgot to comment about the shows. I'm still stuck on Russy spraying cologne over dog poo. I haven't been able to watch much of Run's House since my hubby replaced our big screen with a flat screen. Him just hoggin' stuff now.

I didn't get to see the 1st episode of the new season. Considering I've been going thru the "I think I want another baby" syndrome for the past few months (shhh! don't tell nobody!), I don't think I could've sat thru that episode without crying. I just took everyone's word that it was heartbreaking and left it at that.

As for Salt n Pepa, I can't wait for the next episode. With them being under the same roof, I wonder if they're going to be anything like Felix and Oscar from The Odd Couple.

I love Run's House and I agree with your synopsis of the show. I missed some episodes from last season, because I was out of the country last year, but got caught up before the season started when I watched the marathon.

As for the Salt-N-Pepa show, those ladies are like night and day, and according to them, it's always been that way. LOL Spinderella will be in the next episode. Though, she was a part of the group, she wasn't the original Spinderella. I think having the first episodes focused on Salt and Pep were needed before Spin came in the mix, because they had a lot to work out before moving forward.
